L. Wayles Wilson, Founder & Lead Consultant

Wayles provides expert project management & implementation support, and organization leadership. Her recent consulting projects have ranged from program feasibility and implementation for an online Learning Management System, student enrollment competitive analysis and implementation, grant writing, as well as strategic planning and operations to support schools with sustainability efforts.

With over 15 years of experience in education nonprofits, Wayles offers expertise in staffing (hiring & management), professional development, strategic planning, school finance & operations, project management, and more.

  • Wayles previously served as Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer, School Support for Camden City School District in Camden, NJ. During her time there, she supported the executive leadership team on strategic planning and goals oversight, as well as managed school finance and operational functions. Prior to joining CCSD full-time, she worked as consultant with TNTP (formerly The New Teacher Project) serving on talent and staffing teams in Camden, as well as Baltimore City, and Philadelphia. Wayles has experience hiring for all school-based roles, and running new teacher & leader training, coaching and certification programs. Prior to her time in K-12 education, Wayles worked in alumni relations and development in higher education.

  • She holds degrees in education non-profit administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a certified School Business Administrator in New Jersey. She also holds Bachelor's degrees from Washington College in business administration and international relations.

  • Ayanna holds a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Chestnut Hill College, where she honed her pedagogical skills and deepened her understanding of educational systems. Complementing this, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami, equipping her with a strong foundation in business principles and strategies that she aptly applies to the field of education.

Nisha Patel, Capacity Specialist & Operations Manager

Nisha has helped launch and maintain HubSpot, a CRM platform that Mastery Schools now uses to recruit and maintain prospective students. She has also assisted in grant writing projects for school districts in Philadelphia and New Jersey, and has maintained weekly social media and blog posts for nonprofit organizations. She has a passion for design and project management which has helped create effective communication pathways for our clients and continues to do excellent work providing exemplary results through our multifaceted organization. 

Having been a teaching assistant during her time at UC Irvine, she is equipped with leadership and organizational skills which have been highlighted with the work she has done for clients since joining Sustainable Schooling. 

  • Nisha is a recent graduate from the University of California, Irvine where she received degrees in Psychological Sciences with an emphasis on child development and Criminology, Law, and Society. She began working for Sustainable Schooling eager to learn more about nonprofit education and has swiftly adjusted to the role of education consultant. 

  • Nisha plans to get her Masters in Child Life and wants to continue down a path of service and giving back to her community.
